NEXT Magazine

Adventure Church hired me to give their Next magazine a complete overhaul. The goal was to make this magazine more engaging, more legible, and more fun to look though. The previous magazines had been a blue monochromatic magazine with a blue overlay on photos. It also had way too much text on each page. The three of us worked together to give the same information with less words, bold colors, and eye-catching layouts.

The new cover is clean and modern.

This year's letter is more graphical. I wanted it to feel like it was written on paper. I also wanted to do something different with the photo so I gave it a polaroid feel.

This is the Giving Ladder. Last year felt less like a ladder with stair steps, so this year, I wanted to show that in a graphic a bit better.

Throughout the magazine I used various versions of torn masking tape. They are actually pieces of masking tape that I have torn, put on a piece of paper, photographed, and edited.

One of the pages was dedicated to their global outreach. During one of the creative brainstorms, I came up with this map idea showing where all of their missionaries are located throughout the world.

I wanted to show another side by side comparison of the old design beside the new design.
